EEO/AA Employer Drug-free Workplace Job Description Do you love to work with and around animals and help them find their forever home? The City of Lynn Haven is seeking an Animal Care Technician to perform various duties relating to animal care, such as cleaning and maintaining the City animal control facility, and the feeding and general care of all animals placed in the City's care.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and can lift 50 pounds.
Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to represent the shelter to the public.

This position may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work may require some combination of standing, sitting, walking, running, climbing, reaching, crawling, kneeling, crouching, lifting, pulling, pushing, repetitive motions, and exerting force in situations involving domesticated animals and wildlife.
RESPONSIBILITIES Cleaning and maintaining of the City animal control facility.
Intake, feeding and maintaining all animals placed within the City's care.
Meets with the public and provides basic information about adoptions or other shelter functions and services.
Helps maintain cleanliness of shelter vehicles when requested.
Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED required.
One year of formal or informal experience working with animals.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to handle animals safely and effectively or the ability to learn how to handle animals in a controlled setting.
Must be able to deal courteously with the public.
Must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions as described.
